The World of Private Label returns

The World of Private Label international trade show is set to return to Amsterdam from 31 May to 1 June 2022. The trade show is sponsored by PLMA – Private Label Manufacturers Association –, the world’s largest industry body representing more than 3,500 players. For over 35 years, the World of Private Label has been bringing together retailers, wholesalers and other professionals seeking new products, contacts and ideas to develop their private label programmes. The number of visitors is gradually increasing each year, and this is also due to the fact that the industry is expanding: in fact, the private label industry accounts for 40% of the goods sold in seven European countries and for more than 30% of the goods sold in nine other Old World countries.

What to expect from the PLMA 2022

The halls of World of Private Label 2022 will be packed with buyers from all categories: supermarkets and hypermarkets, discount stores, chemist’s shops, department stores, exporters and importers. A total of about 2,500 brands will be present, with 50 national and regional pavilions. The exhibition spaces will be divided into food and non-food categories. The food areas will be hosting companies selling fresh or chilled food, dry food and beverages, while the home, kitchen, garden, DIY, cosmetics, health and beauty departments will be grouped together in the non-food areas. That is exactly where MartiniSPA will be exhibiting its finest offerings, at yet another event to be held in 2022, following The Inspired Home Show in Chicago and Cosmoprof Worldwide in Bologna.

MartiniSPA in Amsterdam: innovations and certainties

At PLMA in Amsterdam, MartiniSPA will be previewing its most iconic collections and major novelties developed over the last few months. One such example is the unprecedented, 100% recycled and recyclable net sponge, the ultimate product for anyone who wishes to enjoy a rich foamy bath: this sustainable, environmentally friendly sponge is available in four bright colours. Another great addition to the MartiniSPA range is the equally colourful shower cap.

Mr Eco®, green technology applied to a sponge

At World of Private Label 2022, emphasis will be placed on MartiniSPA’s ecological sustainability thanks to the Mr Eco® home care line. Having already won the Red Dot Design Awards 2020, the Mr Eco® range boasts an interesting selection of products: sponges made from plant cellulose, scouring pads made from antibacterial mesh and stainless steel, bamboo viscose cloths, wooden brushes with sisal bristles, and other surprising kits. The quality of Mr Eco® has four specific strengths: recyclable materials, natural ingredients (loofah, bamboo and many others), sustainable packaging, and a plastic-free approach.

For years now MartiniSPA has been making products with an increasingly green soul by using recyclable natural materials, made through production processes with lower environmental impact and using energy produced by solar panels.

MartiniSPA’s choice of a more sustainable and eco-friendly approach gave birth to Mr. Eco®, the new range of products designed for cleaning and home care with a low impact on nature: vegetable cellulose sponges, loofah and natural fibre scrubbers, antibacterial copper and stainless-steel scouring pads, wooden dish brushes with sisal bristles, and bamboo viscose cloths. The products are made with biodegradable and recyclable materials and natural fibres, packaged in FSC® certified paper or TUV® compostable foil.

Mr. Eco® will be presented during Ambiente 2020, the international fair dedicated to the latest trends in tableware, kitchen and more generally for home décor, organized by Messe Frankfurt GmbH in Frankfurt from 7 to 11 February 2020.

Mr Eco® is MartiniSPA’s answer for a cleaner world. A natural mission

Some companies only started believing in being green since the topic started trending. But there are brands for which environmental sustainability is at the foundation of their mission. MartiniSPA, for example, proudly counts itself among the latter. To the point where respect for the environment is not just a feature of its lines’ products, but can be found in all expressions of its corporate culture. An almost pioneering approach on the Italian market, dreamt up and supported by its patron, Fulvio Martini.

There is green outside the Forest

MartiniSPA has, therefore, developed an environmental sustainability plan that has empowered the brand in the past 15 years. With a multitude of concrete examples. Starting with the MartiniSPA Forest, created in 2007 at the company’s door: the area has been enriched with hundreds of trees belonging to 12 different species, providing a tangible contribution to local air quality and the local ecosystem. The commitment of MartiniSPA has also been translated into placing increased focus on optimising logistics and the production chain, in terms of environmental impact and energy efficiency. An example are the solar panels distributed since 2012 among the group’s buildings, that can generate over 2,730,000 kW.

Aside from the forest and the panels, MartiniSPA also proves its green attitude with its offering. Just like Mr. Eco®, the line of ecologically sustainable products for the home, created with biodegradable and recyclable materials, and without plastic elements. Even the packaging is eco-friendly, thanks to the FSC® certified paper from which it is made. All that being said, the Mr. Eco line can be summarised using its 4 strong points: zero plastic, recyclable materials, natural ingredients (from loofah to bamboo), and sustainable packaging. 4 true green assets, that have yielded “red” fruits. The design quality of Mr. Eco®, the creativity and the management of communication led Martini SPA to win the Red Dot Design Awards 2020 (Brand & Communication category). Just to give you an idea of the true extent of this success, you only need to know that the competition involved 6,992 projects by designers, agencies or companies from 50 Countries.

Being eco-friendly is more than name-deep. And MartiniSPA has always known this.

A trade fair with 80 years of successes

For decades, The Inspired Home Show has been the most prestigious home products trade fair in North America and beyond. Every year until 2019, the event of the International Housewares Association used to host more than 52,000 sector professionals and brands, with registrations from more than 130 Countries around the world. The Inspired Home Show, therefore, was the gravity centre of the home industry, where to network, discover the most innovative trends, take part in educational initiatives, and show company offerings to the large audience of stakeholders.

The relaunch of The Inspired Home Show

The Covid-19 pandemic, however, forced the organisers to postpone the 2020 and 2021 events. Now, at last, is the moment to turn the lights of Chicago’s McCormick Place, the event’s historic headquarters, on once more. The Inspired Home 2022 will be enhanced by special novelties, such as Connect 365. The event’s digital Marketplace is getting ready to revolutionise the relationship between brands and users, who can have an exclusive preview of the products that will be the stars of the unique show of the Windy City. Obviously, MartiniSPA and its best lines had to be included in the list of international brands.

From 5 to 7 March, when looking at exposition space N6453 – North building, floor 3, hall B1 visitors will in fact discover how creativity and innovation can best serve the environment. For example, they will see demonstrations of the unique properties of the Beauty Sponges, the sponges created by MartiniSPA with the X-Pand process to exalt the active principles of their natural components with heady fragrances: aloe vera, coconut, hemp seeds, pink grapefruit, or coconut. Made for all skin types, the Beauty Sponges enhance every minute spent under the shower.

Hygiene+, a healthy body in a healthy house

Visitors to The 2022 Inspired Home Show will be able to feast their eyes on the MartiniSPA Hygiene+ collection, with sponges and accessories for the home and the body. The fair’s guests will admire the excellence of the antibacterial ingredients that identify the Hygiene+ line: silver ions, zinc pyrithione, copper, and thiabendazole are just some of the ingredients on which MartiniSPA has built an invaluable bacteriostatic action for safe families in safe domestic environments.
